I went shopping the other day, with my size 0 roommate. We went to quite a few different places, and she is so considerate about going places where they have a ‘Plus Size’ section. While out, I think she began to realize my frustration, mentioning how small the plus size sections were in stores. As a girl who fluctuates between a 14-18 and loves to shop, it does become a bit frustrating. I love the fact that there are strictly Plus Size stores, I do…but they are limited in number. In most cases, we are stuck with a smaller section of not as cute clothes for a higher price. This to me is ridiculous. Im supposed to give a store who doesnt provide me with a decent selection MORE money for uglier clothes? Not anymore. I made the decision that I am going to wear whatever I want in whatever size I feel like. I am going to wear shirts that cling to my back rolls, pants that accentuate my muffin top, skirts that show off my thunder thighs. And if America has such a problem with it, if showing off my fat is upsetting to the public, if it is seen as “disgusting” or “inappropriate”….then make it easier, cheaper, and more fun for me to shop as a plus size girl and maybe then I’ll cover up the body that society tries to tell me isnt beautiful and wear clothes “better suited for my size”….but probably not :)
