Personal Opinion on Plastic Surgery

“(Plastic surgery) is something that everybody should think about for a really long time. Once you know it’s something you really feel comfortable with, then to each their own. “I was never really unhappy with how I looked, (and) I don’t think I am more beautiful than I was (before). I just see the same old goofy girl I see every day.” - Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson is a wonderful example about how I personally feel about plastic surgery. She was always such a beautiful girl, this was not a decision based on insecurities or self-hate. She simply thought re-shaping her nose would be more flattering, something she was more comfortable with. A decision made entirely for herself, a specific, long contemplated decision and she stopped there.

If you hate yourself, changing your outsides will not change your insides, you will always find something wrong, the change won’t make you happy, you will still hold insecurities and anger, you will hate other people for having your insecurity. Who wants to live a life filled with hate?

You can want to change your appearance without hating yourself in the process. I believe that if you think, “I won’t be happy UNTIL I change the way I look.” we are definitely in the wrong head space. You can be happy today! Life is too short to be so stressed out about the way we look.

Plastic Surgery: I will say “to each his own”, and if you are considering it, think long and hard, think of the reasons you are doing it, think of the risk, any surgical procedure is risky and dangerous, accidents happen, YOU might happen, and once you’ve done it, there is almost no turning back. If you consider plastic surgery, do your research, find the right doctor. So many people are out there ready to take your money. Please be careful!

You will be beautiful no matter what you look like. But if you want to change, if you think a certain physical change (including non surgical changes) would be for the better, perfectly fine, just be sure that you find the safest, healthiest way to do so, and love yourself every step of the way.
