This is a place of encouragement, a place to talk about body image, a place for feeling beautiful. No matter what you look like, what color, what gender, what size or however many "flaws", healthy, not healthy, working on it, we are all human, we all deserve to be happy, we all deserve to love ourselves. With this blog you will see all kinds of REAL bodies, REAL people, REAL stories.

serenechaos whispered, "Do you plan on showing more people of color and possibly resubmitting your "All bodies are good bodies" with the inclusion of people of all colors and genders?"

We show what is submitted to us. If more people of color, people with disabilities, genderqueer people etc., submit, we’d be more than happy to post their stories. But we cannot control who submits. I really wish people wouldn’t view this blog as being anything but inclusive, but again, we have no control over who decides to tell us their story.

When I made the ‘all bodies are good bodies’ picture, the whole ‘as long as you’re white’ was a reaction I did NOT intend people to have. I googled for a long time, and what I found is that I could either find pictures of a variety of body shapes that were all one race, or a variety of races that were all conventionally ‘thin’. I couldn’t find anything that had it all. And if you want my honest opinion, that speaks more to society’s standards than to what I intended when I made the picture. No, the picture isn’t perfect. Why are most of them blonde? Why are all of them white? No, it’s not a perfect picture, but NO picture is going to be able to include everything. It’s a good start.

If anyone has suggestions as to where to find more culturally and gender-diverse pictures, please, I’m all ears! And if there are any bodies out there who are POC, have disabilities, do not fit within the realm of ‘male’ and ‘female’ please, PLEASE, I encourage you to submit! The more diversity we can have here, the better!
